Cisco AE1000

Here it is folks, for my first comeback review I've got something that I personally love, and just recently bought. (so I am a little biased, I'll give you that)

The Cisco AE1000 Network Adapter

I needed a WiFI adapter for my home PC after I moved into an apartment a few weeks ago, and I figured it would be a much more daunting task then it actually was. I was thinking I'd have to buy a PCI Express style card (the ones that are actually manually put into your computer) and me being the lazy ass that I am, I wasn't looking forward to that.

I'm very glad that this (and pretty much EVERY adapter out there now) is a USB style adapter. This on in particular has about 4 feet of cable, so you can get some serious signal if you have to say, stretch it out to your window, because your neighbors WiFI is just a little TOO far away :D

Here are the specs:

Features:
  • Selectable 2.4 or 5 GHz Wireless-N bands designed to enhance performance and avoid interference
  • Includes USB extension cable and base designed for optional placement and improved wireless connectivity
But what the specs don't tell you is that this thing runs seamlessly. Installation takes merely seconds, and it's basically idiot proof.

Numerous reviews say it's even better then the highly advertised Cisco Valet (which is also $15 more expensive

So if your due for a network adapter, look no further, because this piece of equipment is so basic, that even non-tech savvy people will love it.

The Good:
Ease of use, extension cable, savvy little docking station

The Bad:
It would have been cool if it installed itself, with no CD

Overall Rating: 10/10
